Thanks for your feedback and we apologize for any confusion. These deck fill caps are quarter turn caps, not threaded. We mention this in the product description.

'These quarter turn deck fills were used prior to 2016 and have since been replaced by threaded caps. If your waste fill has a quarter turn cap, this is the correct cap.'
