Thru Hull Fittings
Many of the plastic thru hull fittings used by boat builders are made of low grade, cheap plastic which can break under stress or freezing conditions. The sealants used to seal them can begin breaking down the plastic almost immediately... check yours for hairline cracks. Every fitting we carry is molded of high-strength, UV resistant, engineered plastic to withstand both the sun and the sealants. They also have barbs to fit marine hose, designed so you can double hose clamp, if needed. All threads are standard tapered pipe thread, which fits most marine fittings. Although very srong, these thru hulls should only be used above the waterline.
